The data below are from August 2008, the latest available. Alaska often takes top honors as the most tax-friendly to residents. It has no state sales tax, no income tax and the government annually sends residents a refund because of the excess revenue it collects from companies extracting oil from the state. | Talk radio, for instance, has become a counterweight to the liberal establishment media. Blogs have allowed anyone and everyone to become a pundit with no limit to the number of readers who can be reached. And Fox News has overwhelmed CNN and the Big Three networks on American TV screens. Liberal politicians see it all — rightly — as a threat to their power. And so the scheming for a new "Fairness Doctrine" on steroids has begun in earnest. An effective way to shut down all this outrageous talk of regulating political discussion in America would be a bold statement from our new president to those in his party making it clear that the "change" he is bringing to Washington must not include government meddling in the sources of information that free people choose for themselves. |

| The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was set up to combat fraudulent practices. The SEC's Web site explains that "Ponzi schemes are a type of illegal pyramid scheme named for Charles Ponzi, who duped thousands of New England residents into investing in a postage stamp speculation scheme back in the 1920s." A Ponzi scheme does not generate any wealth whatsoever; that is why it ultimately collapses. We have a national Ponzi scheme where Congress collects about $785 billion in Social Security taxes from about 163 million workers to send out $585 billion to 50 million Social Security recipients. Social Security's trustees tell us that the surplus goes into a $2.2 trillion trust fund to meet future obligations. The problem is that whatever the difference between Social Security taxes taken in and benefits paid out, Congress spends it... |

| The Fourth and Fifth Amendments (limitations on governments' right to trespass on private property and ability to force information out of us that we do not want to give) were described in Boyd v. United States (1886) as "...protection against all governmental invasions ....of the sanctity of a man's home and the privacies of life.". In Mapp v. Ohio (1961), the Fourth Amendment was described as "...creating a....right to privacy, no less important than any other right carefully and particularly reserved to the people.'' The next wave of related intrusion will begin next spring when legions of temp workers are hired to begin taking the 2010 census. There is no constitutional authority for a census to be taken, but there is a defacto political obligation to allow ourselves to be counted. In anticipation of the 2010 census, it has been suggested that we make the following declaration and post it to our door or gate or forward it if an "American Community Survey" with our name on it is sent certified or registered mail to the place where we receive such correspondence... |

| The U.S. Census Bureau has been overstepping the U.S. Constitution's requirements for a simple enumeration of the citizens for years, but their current plans to mark the GPS location of every address in the U.S. is just the latest in a long list of usurpations of the General Government's Constitutional authority. The Bureau of Census is sending its army of workers to every address in the United States within the next couple of months in order to log the Global Positioning System (GPS) location of every American citizen's home. Cataloging the physical location of people's homes is far removed from the Constitutional grant of authority to the government to merely count how many people are living in the several states in order to assign an appropriate number of Representatives to them in the U.S. House of Representatives1 so, there must be another purpose for this action... |

| According to an online Yahoo program, the Global Position System coordinates for the White House, probably one of the best-known publicly owned buildings in the world, are 38.898590 Latitude and -77.035971 Longitude. And since you know that, it's no big deal for the White House to know the coordinates for your front door, is it? Some people think it is, and are upset over an army of some 140,000 workers hired in part with a $700 million taxpayer-funded contract to collect GPS readings for every front door in the nation. Why does the Obama administration need or want the latitude and longitude coordinates for every home in America? Why the rush to GPS paint every home in the next 90 days? Why must the marker be within 40 feet of every front door? For what possible purpose does the Fed need GPS coordinates for every home, and under what authority do they have the right? |

| Beware, the 2010 Census Taker (CT) , now happening in your neighborhood, albeit a year early. And something new has been added. The CT is armed with a GPS unit to log the GPS coordinates for your front door. Why? This has all the earmarks of the USDA wanting to tag every animal in America with an RFID chip. What's next? RFID chips for people? It sounds even more like gun registration, or Obama's desire, under a National Health Care System, to put your medical records on the Internet. To the government, you are just a numbered idiot. The Constitution of the United States only mentions the census as an "enumeration" in Article I, Section 2, Clause 3: "....The actual 'Enumeration' shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.". Whether you get the long or the short form, only give the names of the individuals in your household, their ages and your address, nothing else. A simple head count is all that is required by the Constitution... |

| U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas told a House subcommittee that when it comes to determining whether a person born outside the 50 states can serve as U.S. president, the high court is "evading" the issue. The comments came as part of Thomas' testimony before a House appropriations panel discussing an increase in the Supreme Court's budget earlier this week. Hints of division within the Supreme Court on the issue existed as far back as December 2008, as Justice David H. Souter had initially denied the case a hearing, but Justice Thomas agreed to bring it back for review. The case did not, however, obtain the required approval of four justices to move it forward to a full hearing. So far, the Supreme Court has not yet heard any case challenging Obama's eligibility on any grounds... |
